Effect of Mn doping on the structural, optical, magnetic properties, and antibacterial activity of ZnO nanospheres

This work investigates the systematic study of structural, optical, magnetic, and antibacterial properties Mn-doped ZnO. Zinc oxide (ZnO) Mn2+ doped zinc (ZnMnO) nanoparticles (NPs), were prepared through co-precipitation method. The X-ray diffraction studies confirmed that synthesized did not modify crystal structure upon Mn doping. However, microstructural parameters changed considerably increase concentration dopant. HRTEM images showed ZnO NPs exhibit nanospheres-like morphology, a reduction in average particle size from 41 nm to 33 was observed elemental composition Zn, Mn, O atoms identified by EDAX spectra. Zn–O stretching bands at around 550 cm−1 FTIR spectra oxygen vacancies defects PL estimated band gap 2.95 eV increased 3.14 for ZnMnO3. In addition, more significant effect than pure NPs. changes M-H loop where diamagnetic behavior weak ferromagnetic nature when with ions.
